November 2, 2025 – The people of the Makuac Pangong Community in Gogrial, West County in South Sudan, celebrate during the handoff ceremony of a new well. This clean water well, funded by MAMA Project’s donors Clyde and Doris, will serve the surrounding community of over 570 residents with clean water, promoting health, peace and so much more. Before this water borehole, community members needed to travel several kilometers to an unclean water supply. The community expressed much gratitude to Clyde & Doris, MAMA Project, and Transformation of the World In Christ (MAMA Project’s partner in South Sudan), for funding, organizing and overseeing the installation of this water borehole.
Spring 2025 – A video of the handoff ceremony and a thank you celebration from the community of Biemnhom in South Sudan to MAMA Project, Transformation of the World In Christ, and MAMA Project’s donors, Joel & Shirley, for funding and facilitating the installation of a new clean water well. This well will help bring together the Dinka and Nuer peoples and create peace between them, as well as drastically reduce the number of Cholera infections, a disease spread by unclean water sources.
Rev. Paul with women who are celebrating the water well with a song that they have written about the joy of having water, and thanking MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ. Rev. Paul is translating.
This is Reverend Paul from Transformation expressing his thanks to MAMA Project on behalf of the people. Now the women will not have to walk for hours every day in search of water. Because of generous donations, we have just sent funds for 3 more wells for the refugee camps. There are now a total of 16 camps, all with desperate needs. It is so amazing to be able to partner with Transformation of the World in Christ, a ministry of the Episcopal Church in South Sudan. They are also a small nonprofit, about the size of MAMA Project, but together we have been able to find solutions to some of the very desperate needs of people who have needed to flee war.
Some of the women at the celebration of the new well singing and dancing with Rev. Paul from Transformation of the World in Christ. Notice that his vest also has the MAMA logo. The women were singing a song to him that they had written to express their thanks to Transformation, MAMA Project and God.
One of the women wanted to express her thanks to MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ – our partner on the ground who is working in the IDP camps. In the background, you can see the people from the camp and the nearby village who are celebrating the well!
Children at a school in Turealei, South Sudan, now have access to clean water after MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ coordinated the repair of this well. MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ are working on training well repair technicians, repairing broken wells and installing new wells to supply the host villages and the IDP camps with clean water. Not only is clean water essential for the body, it also helps fight disease.
This was the celebration that occurred at the dedication of the second well that MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ were able to drill last week in a second camp where people were desperate for water. The camp and the nearby community showed up to dance, sing and celebrate!
