Rev. Paul with women who are celebrating the water well with a song that they have written about the joy of having water, and thanking MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ. Rev. Paul is translating.
One of the women wanted to express her thanks to MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ – our partner on the ground who is working in the IDP camps. In the background, you can see the people from the camp and the nearby village who are celebrating the well!
This is Reverend Paul from Transformation expressing his thanks to MAMA Project on behalf of the people. Now the women will not have to walk for hours every day in search of water. Because of generous donations, we have just sent funds for 3 more wells for the refugee camps. There are now a total of 16 camps, all with desperate needs. It is so amazing to be able to partner with Transformation of the World in Christ, a ministry of the Episcopal Church in South Sudan. They are also a small nonprofit, about the size of MAMA Project, but together we have been able to find solutions to some of the very desperate needs of people who have needed to flee war.
Some of the women at the celebration of the new well singing and dancing with Rev. Paul from Transformation of the World in Christ. Notice that his vest also has the MAMA logo. The women were singing a song to him that they had written to express their thanks to Transformation, MAMA Project and God.
This was the celebration that occurred at the dedication of the second well that MAMA Project and Transformation of the World in Christ were able to drill last week in a second camp where people were desperate for water. The camp and the nearby community showed up to dance, sing and celebrate!
